Dog parks

The municipality of Sotkamo maintains two separate dog parks, which are open to all canine companions and their owners throughout the year.

Please familiarise yourself with the general rules and guidelines of the dog parks before using the facilities:

1. Please ensure that your dog’s vaccinations and deworming are up to date.
2. Do not bring sick, aggressive, or female dogs in heat to the park.
3. Always keep the gates closed.
4. Dogs must not be left alone or unattended in the enclosure.
5. Help keep the park clean by picking up after your dog and disposing of waste in the designated bins.
6. Each dog owner is responsible for their pet and its behaviour.
7. Please put all rubbish in the bin.
8. Never leave your dog unattended in the park and always keep the gate closed.

RAURAMONLAMPI DOG PARK

The lush Rauramonlampi dog park is located on the shore of Lake Rauramonlampi, at Ratapolku, 88600 Sotkamo. The dog park is freely accessible to everyone. The entrance to the dog park is at the back of the heavy vehicle parking area, so don’t be put off by the surroundings as you make your way to the park.

HARAKANLANSSI DOG PARK

The Harakanlassi dog park, newly opened in August 2025, is situated along Ristijärventie, at Ristijärventie 2, 88600 Sotkamo. The park features separate areas for large and small dogs, as well as entrance sections designed to prevent escapes when entering or leaving. The fenced park covers an area of approximately 3,000 square metres.
