Accessible routes

The accessible outdoor gym is located on Hiukka beach, in the immediate vicinity of the centre of Sotkamo. The gym has Lappset fitness equipment and instructions how to use them.

Iso-Pölly is the highest summit of the Vuokatti Hills, 326 meters above sea level. The view over the lakes of Sotkamo opens up in every direction.

Sapsokossee had a small power plant for a long time, which was dismantled in 2023. Now the rapids flow freely again. An accessible shelter was built on the banks of the restored rapids, making it a pleasant place to take a hike.

In the fare southern end of the Vuokatti hill line, lies the Rönkkö lean-to-shelter welcoming skiers and hikers to enjoy a well-deserved break.

A cosy lean-to with a campfire in a beautiful spot, located centrally along the Vuokatti Lampipolku walking and Nordic walking trail. 

Senioripuistosta löytyvät laitteet monipuoliseen virkistäytymiseen. Levähdyspenkkeineen ja laitureineen se on myös oivallinen ajanviettopaikka.

In the hot summer days nothing is better than dipping into a lake at one of Vuokatti's beaches. The best one is the Hiukka beach, that is easily reached from the Sotkamo center. 

Along the unobstructed shore path of the Särkinen pond, near Vuokatti Sport, you will find a wonderful rest area that is open all year round. An accessible hut and fireplace is available for all hikers.

Accessible lean-to is located on the island Eskonsaari. There is also a partly accessible outhouse and a dock. 

Sotkamo Marina is located right in the municipal center of Sotkamo, on the waterfront of lake Pirttijärvi. It's a perfect base for your paddling trips.
